Miami’s very own and Live House recording artist, Bushy B sat with Cviddy TV’s CEO and editor-in-chief Catiana Saillant for an exclusive behind the scenes interview on his recent release for his well-received mixtape “Cursed By The Gift.”
Bushy narrates an introspective and revealing story through bold lyricism and honest sentiments. The mixtape opens with the chilling intro “Cursed By The Gift”, where Bushy expresses his many burdens, challenges but most of all his unyielding commitment to truly prove to himself that he definitely has the gift. In our exclusive Bushy shared that his main premise behind the mixtape was to provide his listeners with an unfiltered peek into his everyday grind and his pursuit to make a name for himself within the industry. Bushy shared that his connections with Live House leading artist and CEO, Ice Billion Berg came as no surprise as they developed a mutual respect for each other’s craft. The two have fully developed a big brother relationship that Bushy feels will only elevate their skills and bring about a greater sense of comradery amongst the overbearing ego’s that plague many of South Florida’s rising talent.
Bushy, however; is a young man with a clear idea of who he is as an artist and what he will contribute to the Hip-Hop culture on a global scale. His many influences include south Florida’s own Brisco and rapper Andre 3000. His sound is fresh and unique; he is often mistaken for other emcee’s yet Bushy comes with a cool and encouraging confidence that most artists at his age and level of their career could only dream of having. He spits seamless and memorable flows over the mixtape on tracks like “Dunno” and “Way You Feel” & “Pray For The Rain”; Bushy commands his audience with sheer conviction and a demeanor that could bring comfort to those who feel that the new generation of Hip-Hop artists don’t live up to the merit of the culture. “Cursed By The Gift” is filled with incredible street anthems and classic urban production that all hip-hop enthusiast will greatly appreciate. Bushy B is our premiere editorial cover due to the fact that he possesses the talent, presence and gift that will transform him from a local star into a global phenomenon.

What part of Miami are you from?
“I’m from Opa-locka I was born and raised in the Back Blues but I went to school in Carol City so I was like on both sides. I had family in the City so I’m just everywhere in Miami. I’m not really in a box, I could go anywhere around the city and get love, I guess that’s why people don’t really give me that Miami hate that the other rappers get.”
What inspired you to become a rapper?
“When I got a 9-5. I actually got a story, I was working at Checkers on 183rd and 27th AVE, I was on the grill and they told me to take the burgers out to somebody car while it was raining, so I took them out and when I came back they didn’t open the door for me. So I’m soak and wet. When I finally got back in I said man I’m gone I put the hat on grill and left. I was already rapping so I just started taking it serious and I seen that the music started picking up.”
How did you build a relationship with Ice Billion Berg?
“Me and Berg met through a mutual friend. My friend knew I rap so he brought me around Berg and then I let him hear some unreleased music so he was like come to the studio and ever since then I been at the studio.”
When did you become a Live House signee?
“We talked about me being under Live House, but Berg wanted to see if I was serious. He didn’t tell me that I was Live House until my mixtape Cursed By The Gift was done. I found out the same day as the mixtape, when it said “Live Presents.”
What track on Cursed By The Gift would you use as an encouragement to your fans?
“Everyday I got a new favorite off the tape but right now I’m listening to “What Would You Do” and “Pray For The Rain,” because I’m actually saying real things that happen in my life. “What Would You Do,” is talking about what would I do for my dreams and “Pray For The Rain” talks about praying for the struggles and seeing who’s around me during the rain. Those are really deep songs.”
Are you working on any projects right now?
“Me and Ice Berg working on collab project right now, I don’t know if we’re actually going to drop it, we’ve just been doing a bunch of songs. I’m also working on all my visuals for Cursed By The Gift and I’ll be releasing them soon.”
What should industry insiders expect from Bushy B?
“They gotta expect more flame, Cursed By The Gift was just the start up. I didn’t put no features on it just to see if people would rock with it because of me.”
