Kanye West has interviewed interior designer Axel Vervoordt for The Hollywood Reporter. During their lengthy conversation about art, ego, and fashion, Kanye casually revealed that he’s working on a book. “I’ve got this new concept that I’ve been diggin’ into. I’m writing a philosophy book right now called Break the Simulation,” he said. “I’ve got a concept about photographs, and I’m on the fence about photographs—about human beings being obsessed with photographs—because it takes you out of the now and transports you into the past or transports you into the future. It can be used to document, but a lot of times it overtakes [people].”

Elsewhere, Kanye discusses the success he’s found with his Yeezy line and Adidas. “We do these sneakers that sell out and we get, ‘Oh, this is the number one brand on Women’s Wear Daily.’ And I don’t wish to be number one anymore, I wish to be water. I wish to be closer to UNICEF or something where I can take the information that I have and help as many people as possible, not to just shove it into a brand.” Check out the full conversation.

About Catiana Saillant

As a child, I've always loved music. From different genres such as Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop. Music allows you to be creative and express yourself the way that you please to. I've sought music to be a place where you can be YOU. You can dance, cry, laugh and do all kinds of crazy things to music. That is what makes me so passionate about what I do! My ultimate goal is to build a mainstream media platform that represents and supports culture such as paintings, music, film and provide empowering media coverage to my viewers.
